The "brick" — with or without the college name — is the only appropriate logo for official communications.
NC State has specific brand requirements. Learn about them here: brand.ncsu.edu.
Likewise, the college has logo requirements: The full logo — red brick and college name, with the words University and College of — is the preferred option.
This full logo is the preferred option for long horizontal spaces.
In certain situations, using these options may be acceptable. Very small or very familiar items may not need the full logo. Always ask yourself if your choice best represents the college and the university.

Do not add department names or other information to the logo.
Individual department logos are not allowed.
Department names are not part of the logo system. Department names can go anywhere — except next to the college logo. Here are some examples of how to identify your department on different materials.
