N.C. State economist Mike Walden explores these and other issues on his Internet radio shows, “Economic Focus” and “Economic Perspective.”

The shows, which are featured on several North Carolina radio stations, can now be heard on the World Wide Web at They also can be heard at, a portal to educational programming from 13 U.S. universities.

The shows are updated every two weeks. “Economic Focus” provides a 90-second snapshot of 10 economic issues. “Economic Perspective,” winner of two national awards, provides a more in-depth, four- to five-minute analysis of two topics.

Dr. Walden and host Bob Duncan use these two shows to explain economic aspects of the news in a consumer-friendly fashion.

Walden is a professor and economist with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
