Health and Well Being

Whether by digging deep into the basic life sciences to discover what makes certain people susceptible to a given disease, by teaching parents how to make the most nutritious food choices, or by helping prepare tomorrow’s health care professionals, N.C. State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences improves human health and well-being in North Carolina and beyond. Through research, for example, our scientists are finding new ways to deliver vaccines, inventing foods that boost health and developing compounds to destroy disease-causing, antibiotic-resistant biofilms. Our undergraduate programs help position graduates for acceptance to and success at medical, pharmacy and dental schools. And our extension programs help people of all ages, in all of North Carolina’s 100 counties, adopt healthier lifestyles. Follow the links to learn more about how the College is making a difference.
