The graduate faculty in the Department of Animal Science is devoted to providing graduate students with an environment and opportunity to expand their intellectual knowledge and to develop their creative and scholarly abilities.
A graduate student at NCSU is considered a member of the Department of Animal Science if the Department supports the student with funding, an advisor or a co-advisor.
Many of the graduate faculty in the Department of Animal Science are also members of one or more discipline faculties (Genomics, Genetics, Nutrition, Physiology and Biotechnology). These individuals can also serve as chairperson for an MS or PhD student who chooses one of these options.
Potential students are encouraged to contact members of our graduate faculty to obtain more information about training opportunities within individual member's research programs.
