Picture Gallery

Ground beetles are the second largest family of beetles in North America, and are distinct from one another in their size, shape, and color.  They are night feeders and the majority of them are predaceous.  At night, they can be found under stones, logs, or piles of debris.  Ground beetles are recognized by filiform antennae, large hind trochanters, and elytra with longitudinal rows of grooves.
