Carrion Beetles

Key Characters:

Picture Gallery

Carrion beetles are larger and more flat than most other beetles.  They are observed by elytra that are usually black or orange.  They can be found feeding on the deceased bodies of other animals or nestled in fungi.  Carrion beetles are very strong and often move the dead insect body in order to bury it; once buried, the beetle will lay its eggs on the deceased.
