The image on this postage stamp depicts a woman scaling a rope ladder to gather honey from bees nesting in the crevice of a cliff.  This image (see complete drawing below) is one of several primitive cave paintings discovered inside the Tito Bustillo Cave in Arana, Spain.  The drawing, which dates from around 7000 BC, is the earliest record of human interaction with bees.  The stamp was issued by Spain on April 28, 1975.
