NC State University Insect Museum

Volunteer with us!

We welcome inquiries from people interested in volunteering at the Insect Museum - high schoolers, undergraduates, graduates, staff, faculty, professional and amateur entomologists, or just about anyone else fascinated by insects. As a volunteer you will learn (depending on your prior experience): how to mount and label insects, how to sort major groups of insects, the intricacies of specimen imaging and databasing, the science of curation, and many other museum skills. Contact information is available in the footer and on our main page.

If you are an undergraduate at NCSU and you qualify for workstudy, we may have an opening for you. Students should use MyPack Portal for available jobs, or email the collection manager - Bob Blinn.

Graduate Study

Are you driven to pursue a graduate degree in insect systematics, evolution, or other related subdiscipline? Find out more about our resources, and consider applying for admission into our entomology graduate program. Available assistantships are typically posted on the Department of Entomology's employment page.
