Hopperstad receives NSF Graduate Student Fellowship

Kristen Hopperstad has been awarded an NSF Graduate Student Fellowship.  This highly competitive program funded 2000 students nationwide.  Kristen was one of 14 NCSU students (from CALS, COS, COE) and one of four Entomology students nationally that received the fellowships.  The funding will support Kristen's PhD work with Dr. Michael Reiskind studying the impact of the invasion of Aedes (Stegomyia) albopictus on the population genetics of Aedes (Stegomyia) aegypti, a naturalized species in the southeastern United States.

Congratulations Kristen!
