Administrative Services I

Formerly known as University Graphics, this building is located on Sullivan Drive across the parking lot from Administrative Services II. Following a renovation project in 2004-05, University Graphics moved back to the building and Transportation and Purchasing - Materials Management moved there as well. The renovation project provided a separate entrance and a street presence for Transportation for the benefit of its customers. In 2010 University Graphics (now Wolf Xpress Print & Copy Services) moved out and Campus Enterprises moved in.

This building along with Administrative Services II and III is part of the George Worsley Administrative Services Complex. It is named for Mr. George Worsley, vice chancellor for finance and business for more than 28 years, who retired on July 31, 2004 after 41 total years of service to the university. When Chancellor Marye Anne Fox announced Mr. Worsley's retirement in February 2004, she hailed his record of steady stewardship of the university's budget and praised his contributions to the institution's growth and its rise to national prominence.

Among his achievements, Worsley negotiated an agreement for the university's role in the development of the Entertainment and Sports Arena (now the RBC Center), home to the men's basketball team and the Carolina Hurricanes, the professional hockey team. He was a key advisor in the 15-year development of Centennial Campus, and oversaw its transition from 1,000 acres of undeveloped land to its current status as a successful technology park with numerous academic, government and business partners.

The NC State Alumni Association recognized Worsley in 2003 with the Honorary Alumnus Award, citing his faithful participation in the life of the university. In 2002, Worsley received the Distinguished Business Officer of the Year award from the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), an honor recognizing outstanding achievement in business and financial management in higher education.
