Energy Management (EM) 3: Industrial and Commercial Energy, Process and Building Analysis

EM 3 is part of the Energy Management Diploma Program, designed to provide you with you with a hands-on, practical, real-world energy management education in three one-week modules that can be taken in any order. Upon completion of the three-week program, you will qualify to take a comprehensive course examination developed by the Institute of Energy Professionals. By successfully completing the exam, you will earn the Professional Energy Manager (PEM) certification in addition to receiving your program diploma from NC State.
In EM 3 you will concentrate on building envelope analysis; industrial and commercial ventilation; geothermal heat pump; process energy analysis/cogeneration; DDC controls specifications, procurement, and commissioning; hydronic systems; and high-performance building envelopes. Maintenance and Reliability Management (MRM) II: Work Flow and Materials Management
Nov. 1-5 ♦ Houston, TX
MRM Il is part of the Advanced Diploma in Maintenance and Reliability Management, offered in partnership with the Marshall Institute. In three one-week modules, you will develop your maintenance and reliability knowledge and sharpen your leadership skills. Attend the modules in any order in as little as one year or as many as three years.
In MRM II you will learn about maintenance planning and scheduling, storeroom control, lean maintenance, and measures and metrics. (Learn more and register)
Facilities Engineering Management (FEM) 2

FEM 2 is part of the Facilities Engineering Management Diploma Program, which provides facility maintenance management professionals with the knowledge you need to help your facility reach its goals. Three one-week courses–totaling 96 contact hours--will provide you with critical, money-saving skills in the areas of maintenance, electrical, mechanical, environmental, health and safety, construction, energy conservation, and management material.
In FEM 2 you will concentrate on project management; environmental, safety and health issues; heating, ventilation and air conditioning controls; improving the building envelope for the environment; and changes in electrical power delivery. (Learn more and register)
Concrete Slabs: Design, Construction, Troubleshooting, and Floor Coverings
Dec. 3 ♦ McKimmon Conference and Training Center, NC State University, Raleigh
Despite their popularity and intensive use, concrete slabs are commonly at the center of most in-service problems, deficiencies, and disputes. In this seminar, you will have the opportunity to review current design principles, construction practices, troubleshooting methods, and testing actions necessary to obtain and deliver a quality and durable concrete slab. You will also have the opportunity to learn the state-of-the-practice methods to install new floor coverings over concrete, and to troubleshoot and remediate failing concrete floor coverings.
