Denis Jackson Retires

Denis S. Jackson, assistant vice-chancellor for Extension, Engagement and Economic Development and director of the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education is retiring Nov. 1 after 40 years at NC State.

Jackson came to the university as a student, graduating in 1967. He joined the staff as a continuing education specialist in 1971 and served in a variety of positions at the McKimmon Center throughout his career. In his most recent position, Jackson provided leadership and direction for continuing education programs at the center and supervised the primary units operating within the division, including assessment, partnership and program development, computer training, the Center for Urban Affairs and Community Services, the Encore Center for Lifelong Enrichment, the McKimmon Conference and Training Center, and the Office of Professional Development.

Jackson has been active in professional associations, campus committees and honor societies, and community outreach activities.

"Through his vision, leadership, loyalty, dedication and commitment, Denis Jackson can take pride in the fact that he has helped the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education achieve an exceptional standard of excellence in delivering continuing education and professional development programs for NC State University," said Dr. James Zuiches, vice chancellor for Extension, Engagement and Economic Development.
